Overview of M16 Anchor Bolts

The M16 anchor bolt is utilized in the construction of steel structures and various other applications. Below is some basic information about the M16 anchor bolt that you should be aware of.

The term "M16" in the M16 anchor bolt refers to the diameter of the bolt's shaft, which is 16 mm. The material of the M16 anchor bolt can be manufactured from various materials, including carbon steel, alloy steel, or stainless steel.

In terms of mechanical properties, the M16 anchor bolt must ensure high strength to withstand loads and the working environment. The surface is typically processed to resist corrosion and enhance resistance to abrasion.

Structure of the M16 Anchor Bolt

Similar to other types of anchor bolts, the M16 anchor bolt has a simple structure consisting of two parts:

The threaded body, often with a length ranging from 30mm to 400mm, is used in conjunction with nuts and washers to connect to the external structure of concrete or to connect various structural elements.

The remaining part of the M16 anchor bolt is usually shaped by bending into forms such as L, J, U, or left straight, depending on the design and technical requirements of the construction project.

The total length of the M16 anchor bolt, including the threaded body and the shaped portion, typically ranges from 300mm to 4000mm.

Production Process of M16 Anchor Bolts

Step 1: Specification and Technical Factor Determination

Before commencing production, it is crucial to clearly define the technical factors and specifications with the customer for the M16 anchor bolt. This ensures the production of a suitable product that maximizes economic efficiency.

Step 2: Material Selection and Testing

Based on the strength requirements of the M16 anchor bolt, the most suitable type of steel is chosen. In Vietnam, common steel types include CT3, CT4, SS400, C45, C55, SUS 201, SUS 304. Each steel type results in an anchor bolt with a corresponding strength grade.

Once the appropriate raw material is selected, samples are cut for technical testing. If the tests pass, production is initiated in the required quantity.

Step 3: Steel Cutting, Thread Machining, and Shaping

The steel is cut to the specified length of the designed anchor bolt. Subsequently, it undergoes threading and shaping processes in machines designed for this purpose.

Step 4: Surface Treatment of M16 Anchor Bolt

Depending on customer requirements, the surface of the M16 anchor bolt may be left raw or subjected to surface treatment. Surface treatment methods include electroplating or hot-dip galvanization. Typically, hot-dip galvanization is more commonly chosen and utilized.

Step 5: Inspection and Product Packaging

A final inspection is conducted to ensure the M16 anchor bolt meets quality standards and is free from defects. Subsequently, the product is packaged and delivered to the customer.
